Message noisy. Not that a stock rebuild would be more reliable, especially at higher power levels. Are there any aftermarket options for the pre-'98+ transmissions as far as rebuilding goes? I remember seeing a post about rebuilding with an aftermarket kit some time ago. Is the jury still out on if the redesign of the '98+ transmission improved shifting/noise? I seem to remember lots of complaints about the '98+ transmissions having the same problems as the pre'-98+ transmissions. In your opinion, what do you think the stock transmission can handle HP/Torque wise prior to or after the '98 redesign?

It would be nice to understand what is causing the shifting/noise issues in the pre and post '98 design
